Katerra Celebrates Mass Timber Factory Opening

On September 20th Katerra welcomed guests to tour our new Spokane Valley cross-laminated timber (CLT) factory. Katerra CEO Michael Marks welcomed over 150 guests, including elected officials WA Governor, Jay Inslee, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, WA Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz, and Traci Couture, District Director for Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers.

Katerra Opens State-of-the-Art Mass Timber Factory in Spokane Valley, WA

Katerra, a technology company redefining the construction industry, today announced the grand opening of North America’s highest volume cross-laminated timber (CLT) factory. Located in Spokane Valley, Wash., the 270,000-square-foot-facility will significantly increase supplies of CLT, a fully renewable structural building material that sequesters carbon for a building’s life and can be used in place of steel and concrete in buildings up to 18 stories.

Katerra factory delivers to Catalyst

Katerra Inc.’s Spokane Valley cross-laminated timber manufacturing facility has not yet been fully completed, but the Menlo Park, Calif.-based construction, design, and manufacturing company has already delivered its first order in Spokane after two of its cross-laminated timber products passed product testing early last month.
